Purpose: The purpose is to present current information on the diagnosis and treatment of disorders of the musculoskeletal system. The work does meet its objectives, which are most worthwhile. Audience: The book is written mainly for residents in orthopedics, emergency medicine, family practice, and orthopedics surgeons in the subspecialties. The editor, Harry B.Skinner MD, PhD, Professor and Chairman of the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery, University of California Irvine, is a very well qualified orthopedist and educator and he is supported by team of highly qualified contributors. Features: The book builds on the second edition by adding new material on such topics as: ethics, pain management, advances in understanding back pain, the molecular biology of neoplasm, kyphoplasty and vertebroplasty, spinal cord patients and advances in joint replacement.
