http://www.be2006.ru/ On behalf of the Russian Bioenergetics Group we would like to invite you to participate in the 14th European Bioenergetics Conference (EBEC). This event will be held in Moscow, the capital city of Russia. The scientific program will seek to address the main areas of interest and current research within the field of fundamental and applied bioenergetics extending the traditional topics to related areas of cell biology, including physiological, pathological and environmental aspects. It will provide a forum for the free exchange of ideas and information. Tentative symposial topics 1. Molecular bioenergetics : Respiratory chain Light-driven energy transducers ATP-synthase and flagellar motors: rotatory energy transducers Energy-consuming porters Coupling mechanisms (colloquium) 2. Physiology and pathology of mitochondria (in vitro, ex vivo and in vivo studies): Uncoupling Reactive oxygen species Aging Cancer, ischemia and degenerative disorders Programmed death of the cell (apoptosis and necrosis) and of the mitochondrion (mitoptosis) Dynamics of mitochondrial morphology Therapeutic approach Moreover, “Perspectives of bioenergetics” will be discussed at a round table. “Colloquia suggested by participants” and poster sessions will be included in the program. Some time will be reserved for informal discussions. We are glad to inform you that the 14th European Bioenergetics Conference (EBEC) will take place in Moscow, July 22- 27, 2006. The conference venue is M.V. Lomonosov Moscow State University. The scientific program will seek to address the main areas of interest and current research within the field of fundamental and applied bioenergetics, extending the traditional topics to related areas of cell biology, including physiological, pathological and environmental aspects. It will provide a forum for the free exchange of ideas and information. Moreover, “Perspectives of bioenergetics” will be discussed at a round table. “Colloquia suggested by participants” and poster sessions will be included in the program. Physiology and pathology of mitochondria (in vitro, ex vivo and in vivo studies) 2.1.Uncoupling 2.2.Reactive oxygen species 2.3.Aging 2.4.Cancer, ischemia and degenerative disorders 2.5.Programmed death of the cell (apoptosis and necrosis) and of the mitochondrion (mitoptosis) 2.6.Dynamics of mitochondrial morphology 2.7.Therapeutic approach The preliminary program is available at www.be2006.ru The Conference is supported by the Professional Congress Organizer (PCO) - Monomax Congresses and Incentives Co Ltd., a member of the International Congress and Convention Association (ICCA). Monomax Congresses and Incentives Co Ltd. will render the conference the following services: accept conference registration fee; accept abstracts; reserve a hotel according to the application; prepare documents for getting Russian Tourist visa; provide transportation to/from airport from/to hotel; propose and prepare a cultural program for conferees and accompanying persons; TO REGISTER and send ABSTRACT please link at www.be2006.ru.
