After receiving a Diploma degree, which is analogous to a Master’s Degree, from Novosibirsk State University, Russia, in 1996, it took me many years to realize that it is my life purpose to increase the pool of knowledge about humankind by performing research. Therefore, I am applying for a PhD student position to pursue my life’s goal, having now acquired a wealth of experience and despite my age.
Unlike fresh graduates I have the advantage of many years of broad professional experience, including several years in the US, mainly related to biochemistry and molecular biology. I performed experimentation which included such techniques as flow cytometry, ELISA, ELISPOT, lentivirus production and lentiviral cell transduction, adenovirus production and adenoviral cell transduction, RT-qPCR, qPCR for genomic DNA, Western blotting, site-directed mutagenesis, bacterial culture, human and animal cell culture, mice breeding and genotyping, molecular cloning, site-directed mutagenesis, designing siRNA, protein purification, gel-electrophoresis (DNA, RNA, SDS-PAGE), immunocytochemistry, immunohistochemistry, clinical biochemical diagnostics, etc.
I also have some experience in lab management and student training, and I enjoyed teaching young people. While having experience mainly in biochemistry and molecular biology, I also have a strong interest in genetics.
